SchweinfurtRegensburg - 17 Aug 1943

Heavy damage inflicted on the Regensburg target, but at catastrophic loss of 60 bombers lost and many more damaged beyond repair. As a result, the 8th AF was unable to follow up immediately with a second attack that might have crippled German industry.
