Bagration Closes - 19 Aug 1944

The massive offensive by the 1st Baltic, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Belorussian Fronts resulted in the almost complete destruction of the German Army Group Centre. The operation "was the most calamitous defeat of all the German armed forces in World War II".
